The victim of the shooting, a 25-year-old man, who was wounded twice in the arm, has been treated for the injuries and is in a stable condition. Initial reports say it was an isolated incident during which an employee at the hospital fired shots at a co-worker. It was dubbed a “targeted attack.”

The gunman fired five shots at the hospital’s parking lot, hitting a nearby vehicle.

What followed was a massive manhunt with the suspect eventually being arrested, the Daily Mail reports.

According to 7 News Detroit, the suspect was apprehended at a home in Macomb Township. He handed himself over to the police officers who called him on the phone requesting he gets out of the residence.

However, his identity hasn’t been confirmed yet.

The employees at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital spoke of the shooting, describing the chaos that unfolded.

“I was getting into the parking lot getting ready to walk in and another coworker was screaming to get in my car there was an active shooter,” a medical assistant told Local 4.

“I saw police officers on the parking garage with their guns drawn walking in a line, I was getting ready to walk in to punch in for the day.
